Personal and selected group exhibitions:

Andrey Kovalenko is a young and promising artist. Its art reference points include an iconography, painting of baroque era, old Netherlands art. He works in the classical icon-painting techique: on a board, with use of a gesso, trying to obtain the feeling of precious ancient and antiquarian painting. Similar to icons, many of Andrey Kovalenko’s works, instead of Saints, are bearing the images, of modern poets, writers, architects and other characters interesting to the author. Careful study of details and faultlessness of the techique makes the works of the artist similar to the works of old masters, however the choice of a subject does not allow to doubt the current time of the author. The similar postmodern game of meanings imparts a special interest to the artist works.
